Droid Charge

My addiction to electronics has lead me through so many different purchases this year. The Droid Charge is the most recent. I have to say Samsung has been making some phenomenal products this year. The Samsung galaxy S phones of last year were excellent and I even purchased Verizons "Fascinate" for my wife after having the charge for a few weeks. Well lets get to my quick Review of the Charge.

Screen
The Screen on the Charge has to be one of the most beautiful screens I've laid my eye's on. It's a 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus screen with resolution of 480x800. It may not have the same resolution as the iPhone 4 but it  rivals the iPhone 4's Retina display! The colors are very bright and rich with a true black.

Network
The Verizon Network is considered the best in the industry. The Droid Charge is the second phone released for Verizon's new 4G LTE network. The speeds When on 4G are outrageous for a wireless network. I saw Speeds of up to 21 Mbs  when i was on vacation in Charleston, SC. The average speed i was getting was about 8Mbs in Rochester, NY (which is a more saturated 4g market).
The 3g is Verizon's eHRPD CDMA. This is new to 4G devices due to the sim card required for cell service. eHRPD allows for voice and data simultaneously. 3G speeds are around 1-2Mbs. I've yet to drop a call on the charge.

Everything Else
The Charge is a very sleek lightweight phone. I Love the design of it! It reminds me of a stealth bomber with its design and carbon fiber back. The Phone is made out of plastic making it very lightweight. Some people might not like it but I do.
Im a little disipointed that the phone came with Android 2.2 Froyo. Gingerbread was released in December and the Charge was released in May. That is plenty of time to include gingerbread with their added touchwiz overlay. The Touchwiz skin that samsung puts on the phone is really nice. I can see why Apple is suing Samsung for the similiraities to iOS devices.
The 1600mAH battery will get you through the day even on 4G. While on 3g ive had the phone last for almost 2 days with light web browsing and a few phone calls and texts.

With new phones like the Droid Bionic and Samsung Galaxy SII coming out soon it would be hard not to wait for those Dual Core 4G phones (The Galaxy SII only being rumored to have 4g). If you need a phone now though the Droid Charge is Verizon's best 4G phone out now!
